Old gravel roofs and flat commercial roofs
Many older commercial buildings in towns like Wasco still have gravel-surfaced flat roofs. Once they reach a certain age they crack, blister and leak, and the gravel hides the problem spots until water shows up inside. The good news: an old gravel roof doesn't always have to be torn off.
If the roof is dry and sound underneath, loose gravel can be removed, wet or damaged areas cut out and repaired, and spray foam applied over the top in one seamless, insulating layer. The foam is then protected with a roof coating. If the old roof is saturated or failing, we'll tell you, and a tear-off with a new TPO roof may be the better choice. Farm shops, packing and nursery buildings
Outside town, metal shops, equipment barns and packing buildings serve the orchards and fields. Metal roofs leak at fasteners and laps as they age, and they let a lot of heat into the building. Spray foam over a sound metal roof seals those leak points and adds insulation, and a white coating reflects the sun.
