Spray foam (SPF) is sprayed on as a liquid, expands into one seamless insulating layer, and is finished with a protective coating. It can often go right over an existing roof.

Old metal roofs can be foamed and coated instead of torn off. The foam fills the ribs and seams and is then sealed with a white coating.
Roof coatings
A white roof coating seals the surface and reflects the sun. Coatings go on new spray foam roofs and can restore many existing flat roofs.
TPO roofing
TPO is a white single-ply membrane with heat-welded seams, used on flat and low-slope commercial roofs.
