Home roof repair and replacement
Most buildings in this part of the county are homes, and most home roof problems fall into two groups. Some roofs just need a repair: a few shingles blown off, a cracked tile, worn flashing around a vent or a cooler. Others have simply worn out after decades of sun. We get on the roof, tell you which one you're dealing with, and put it in a written, itemized estimate.
- Roof repair: leaks, missing or damaged shingles, cracked or slipped tile, worn flashing.
- Roof replacement: new shingle roofs with products including GAF, Owens Corning and Malarkey, and tile roofs. A typical home re-roof takes about three days.
- Tile lift-and-relay: we lift the tiles, replace the worn underlayment and relay the tiles.
- Flat sections: TPO or a roof coating on patio roofs, porches and additions.
- Insurance claims: help with your claim when a storm or leak damages the roof.

Wind near the mountains
Arvin and Lamont sit near the foot of the mountains at the southeast corner of the valley, and like the rest of Kern County they get their share of windstorms. Strong gusts get under the edges of older shingles and break the seal that holds them down; once a few go, the next windstorm usually takes more. If you find shingles in the yard after a windy night, have a roofer look at the roof before the next rain. When water is already coming in, call (661) 213-2203. Someone is on call after hours, and we tarp roofs in emergencies to help limit damage.

Shops, stores and ag buildings
For businesses and farm buildings around Arvin and Lamont we work on metal and flat roofs:
- Spray foam over a sound metal or flat roof seals seams and fasteners and adds insulation.
- Roof coatings: Mule-Hide silicone and acrylic coatings that reflect sun and protect the roof, lasting in some cases up to 20 years depending on the system.
- TPO roofing installation and repair for flat roofs.
- Commercial roof repair for leaks, seams, flashing and ponding.

Dust and white roofs
With fields all around, dust settles on roofs here quickly. On a white coating or TPO roof that means less sunlight reflected and a hotter building, and dirt that washes into drains can lead to standing water. A periodic inspection and cleaning keeps a reflective roof doing its job. Warranty length depends on the roof system, typically 20 years.
Arvin & Lamont roofing FAQ
Wind blew shingles off my roof. Do I need a whole new roof?
Not necessarily. If a few shingles are gone and the rest are in good shape, a repair usually does it. If the shingles are brittle and coming loose across the roof, replacement may make more sense. We will look at the whole roof and explain the options in writing.
Are Arvin, Lamont and Weedpatch in your service area?
Yes. We serve Arvin, Lamont, Weedpatch and the rest of Kern County from our Bakersfield office. Lamont and Weedpatch are unincorporated, so roofing permits there go through Kern County, while homes inside Arvin city limits are permitted through the city. We pull the permits for our jobs.
How long does a new roof take?
A typical home re-roof takes about three days. Larger or more complex roofs, tile roofs and weather can change that, and the timeline is in your estimate.
Will my insurance pay for a new roof?
Your insurance company decides what is covered. We inspect the roof, document the damage and give you a written, itemized estimate, and we can help you through the claim.
Nearby: we also serve east and southeast Bakersfield and Tehachapi. See every town on our service areas page.
